How to: load and play custom maps

Post by Lewa » Sat Apr 23, 2016 10:44 am

Even though i mention in the map-editor introduction documentation as to how to load custom maps in the game, i thought that it would be nice to have this information shared here on the forum so that people don't need to download the PDF file.

So this are the steps for loading custom maps:
  1. Download the game (if you did'nt do it already. You can download the game on http://www.celaria.com )
  2. Download the .cmap file (here on the map-showcase sub-forum)
  3. Open your localappdata directory of your Windows installation.
You can do it very easily by putting " %localappdata% " in the search-bar of Windows and pressing the Enter key:

  4. Search for your Celaria directory (depending on what type of version your have, the name could slightly differ.)
For the open alpha v4 the directory is called "Celaria_open_alpha_v4"). For the v5 it's called "Celaria_open_alpha_v5" etc...
  5. In this directory you can find the "custom_maps" directory. Copy your downloaded .cmap file into this directory:

  6. Now start the game and click on the "custom maps" button in the menu. The map should be loaded and displayed in the map-selection screen.

Interested in creating your own maps? The game has a built-in map-editor. There is also a tutorial/introduction for the map-editor which you can download in PDF form here: http://www.celaria.com/mapeditor/
