Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

Alright. So, here is another version of the game, this time with only the audio library removed. There is no sound output but at least it should be playable on your PC for the time being. > DOWNLOAD The good news is that i already replaced the audiere sound library with the internal sound solution o...

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

Ok, that is really strange. I'll look into the code which handles all the map/ressource loading between the menu and gameplay transition to see if i can spot something. (Still weird that this only occurs on some PCs.) To make sure that the audio library isn't the culprit (the audio library is multit...

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

Yes, it's odd that the memory allocations don't seem to show up in the list. Let's try a few things. Given that texture filtering doesn't seem to work properly (something may be going wrong with the xExt.dll) it's a good idea to remove the DLL from the game and see if that improves the memory usage....

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

Yes, this information helps greatly. :) Did you try to sort the list in the ressource monitor by memory usage? (It should display what exactly is allocating all those gigabytes of RAM.) The .exe file of celaria seems to use only 70MB. Maybe one of it's sub-processes does the allocations. (should be ...

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

What you can try to do is to open the ressource monitor which allows you to have a much more detailed view as to what's going on in the operating system. It also allows you to look at the memory usage of all processes (also those which aren't showing up in the taskmanager.) Simply open the performan...

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

That's odd. Given that your issue is comparable to that in the previous topic it has to be software related. At which point does the game freeze your PC (How much RAM does it consume before it freezes)? If you don't mind, can you post a screenshot of your taskmanager readout where i can see that iss...

Re: Anyone else having memory issues with this game?

Is it crashing the PC completely (like a Bluescreen) or is it only crashing the game? Can you give a bit more detail about this issue? Mainly your Hardware Info like: Operating System (Windows 7, Windows 10, 32 bit, 64 bit, etc...) CPU (Intel Core i5, AMD Ryzen 5,etc...) GPU name (AMD Radeon RX580, ...

Re: .cmap format documentation

Sure! The game uses a custom binary format, thus data needs to be read in binary form. In order to simplify how the structure looks like, i'll shorten the names of data types so that it's easiert to read. Legend: u8 - unsigned byte u16 - unsigned short (2 bytes) u32 - unsigned int (4 bytes) s16 - si...

Re: Falling

Technically you are right. The reason i implemented it the way it is in the game, is that most of the time you as the player only care about the horizontal velocity of the character. (You want to know how fast you are running forwards.) Adding the vertical speed to the speedometer (jumping/falling) ...

Re: Fullscreen Black Screen

This is a known problem with a lot of GM based games. (Fullscreen got broken on Windows 10 after the "creators update".) There seem to be a workaround for this issue which i will try to implement into the final game. Haven't tested it properly though. Side note: Please do stuff now ;_;, twitter's de...
